The Style You Were Born Using-- Your Natural Style

If you have not already done it, please      adjust your audio level. The sound is maximized. Listen to the audio before proceeding. It is important to form a picture in your mind's eye before you answer these questions.

INSTRUCTIONS: Be sure you are uninterrupted during this exercise. Listen to the audio again if you are interrupted before you start answering questions. The results will be incredibly accurate.

If none of the answers is exactly the way you experienced it, choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.


1. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
I pictured a tree which I had not seen before.
I pictured a tree with which I was familiar.
I thought about a tree but never really saw one in my mind.

2. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
I saw little change in the tree that came into my mind.
I thought about a tree familiar to me, but didn't really see it in my mind's eye.
The tree I saw changed during the exercise.

3. When asked to feel, taste, or smell in my imagination:
I thought about feeling, tasting or smelling the leaf but did not do it.
I imagined feeling, smelling, tasting without thinking about how I had done it before.
I thought about how this leaf should feel, smell, or taste.

4. As the exercise progressed:
I saw more and more variety and possibilities.
I saw the things suggested to me and little else.
I thought about what was said, but never clearly saw it.

5. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
I saw a whole picture first, then focused on details when asked to.
I saw one part of the picture at a time until asked to see the whole thing.
I thought about the picture in a way that would make sense.

6. When I was asked to look around in my mental picture:
There was only a tree until I became aware there could be other things.
I thought about other things, but didn't see them.
New things came into my picture before I was asked to look around.

7. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
It was easier to 'think about' than to 'see' a picture.
It was quite easy to see the whole picture from the start.
I developed the picture one part at a time.

8. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
I could see the tree and things which were unexpected distracted me.
I could see the tree and it became clearer as we worked on the details.
The tree didn't focus and I had to think about past experiences.

9. Choose the one which is closest to the way you did it.
I was involved in the directions and wanted to do it right.
I felt limited by the directions and wanted to create my own picture.
I wasn't involved in directions and wanted to know why it was done.

10. At the end of the exercise:
I would have liked to look for more possibilities.
I felt I wanted more details
I was interested in knowing the reason for doing the exercise.
